About Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones offers a gateway to successful lifestyles by providing activities, services, and resources to individuals in recovery during, and upon completion of the Salt Lake County Drug Court Program.

Relationships with alumni are developed between individuals in a community of peers. These peers have shared experiences, and can become mentors to support a future vastly greater than life based on past decisions. Mentors can help support an intended bright future, greatly focused on improvement and growth. Peers share stories of what brought them to Stepping Stones and what their life used to look like. A strong focus on new and healthy lifestyle habits, by breaking the vicious cycle of substance addiction, and replacing it with a happy and sober lifestyle.

“We can help break the cycle of addiction.”

- Greg G. Skordas

Our mission is to inspire individuals before they end up in the Salt Lake County Drug Court Program. We aim to inspire those in the program to initiate a change toward a long-term recovery lifestyle, and demonstrate that it is possible to lead a substance-free life.

Stepping Stones aspires to offer individual services as they provide attention to the individual. With your help, we can offer: one-on-one, advocacy, connecting with resources, and in-home assistance.

Stepping Stones aspires to offer group therapy as it is one of the most successful elements of long-term recovery. With your help, we can offer: women's groups, men's groups, aftercare groups, parenting groups, life-skills groups, and peer-to-peer services.

Graduates of Drug Court and current participants organize regular social and family events, retreats, and activities which help people in recovery connect and have fun sober.
